While trends come and go, here are the 6 types of dresses you must have in your closet that will surely last a lifetime.
1. Shirt Dress
Shirt dresses are my favorite thing to wear especially on my lazy days. This versatile dress is perfect for any day, whether you are running errands or you have a girls day out with your friends. It can be dressed up or down and taken from day-to-night in no time.
2. Little Black Dress
The one-and-done piece that will get you ready in seconds is a Little Black Dress. It’s the perfect piece for all your outfit distress from the office to a night out and everything in-between. You can pair it with almost everything! Any coat, jackets, sneakers, boots, and even sandals will go perfectly with your little black dress!
3. Elegant White Dress
A white dress is like a canvas that you can do absolutely anything on. Just like your LBD, you can pair it anything from a bright color bag and shoes to neutral colors. It depends on your personal style and what you want to show through your outfit. In addition, white also works for all seasons.
There are actually a lot of elegant dresses online that you get without breaking the bank. So if you don’t have an elegant white dress in your closet right now, go get one!
4. Floral dress
Never underestimate the potential of floral dresses! 2 years ago, I attended a launching party that requires us to wear summer outfit. The 1st thing that came to my mind is a floral print. But I don’t have any floral party dress in my closet. That’s when I realized that I need to upgrade my wardrobe. Most of my clothes are neutral colors, and I rarely wear printed and colorful outfits. It never crossed in my mind that there will come a time where I will need to look for a floral dress. So my advice? Add a pop of color to your wardrobe! Expand your classic dress collection with a variety of styles.
5. Lace dress
Lace is a delicate and light fabric, which makes it a feminine and elegant choice for us, women to wear. If you are a fan of laces, you are lucky because lace dresses are always on-trend. Whether your style is demure or edgy, there many diverse styles of lace dresses available for you. Who knows? You might need a Red Lace Dress in the future to slay an event.
6. Midi Dress or Skirt
Midi Dress is not for everyone, especially for short girls like me. It can be intimidating, but there are a variety of ways to style them. Don’t be afraid to try a style out and make it your own! When I was in college, I’m scared to wear midi dresses and skirts because they might not look good on me. But now, I’m okay with it. Another good thing about midi skirts and dresses is that you can wear them most of the year because of the length.
