Finally! A blog post about my La Union trip. Last month was a bit busy for me because of events, projects, and holidays. We organized the Philippine Influencers Meet-up or the PhilIMeet 2019 last April 5,6,7 and it was a success! We toured our participants around Pampanga to experience what we have here. I also went to Baler with my friend during holy week. After that, we experienced a 6.1 magnitude earthquake in Central Luzon and other nearby area were affected. I also got sick for almost a week, and I had to finish my deadlines and other ongoing projects so pardon me if I’ve been missing in action on social media.
Blogging became a work routine to me now. Another reason why this blog post (and other posts) were a bit late is because I’m experiencing a writer’s block. I’m unable to focus on what to write and how to proceed with writing my backlogs. It feels like I don’t now how to write for myself anymore. Parang nasanay na akong gumawa ng content for my clients and I forgot how I used to blog/write back then. Tbh, I missed my old writing style, kung paano ako mag blog. That is the main reason why I don’t usually blog my personal travels anymore. But.. I’m trying. I’m trying to do it again and I’m starting with my La Union trip and hopefully I will be able to blog the others too.

So, last March 25-26, I went to La Union with my boyfriend to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. We booked a room at San Juan Surf Resort ahead of time but we had to cancel it because his vacation leave didn’t match the date we booked. We had a hard time looking for a beachfront hotel because they are all fully booked! It was quite stressful but we are still lucky because the day before our travel, my boyfriend called the Sebay Surf Central to inquire if there’s an available room and luckily, they have!
Before we check-in, we visited Ma-cho temple first. You can check our photos here. After that, we rode a jeepney going to San Juan. We arrived there at 10:00 am and checked-in early to have some rest. After 30 minutes, we claimed the welcome drink at the bar near the beach

We had our lunch at Tagpuan. I ordered their version of Bibimbop (forgot the exact name on the menu) and Lovey ordered beef tapa.
After eating, we went back to our room and I fell asleep. Little did I know, Lovey also slept. We woke up at 3:00 pm, which is for me, the perfect time to go to the beach.
Since it’s summer, there’s a lot of people at the beach, but yas! we found a good spot where we can take photos before dipping into the water.

I don’t know how to swim and I’m definitely not a surfer. I just love staying at the beach. I can literally stay there for hours just sitting by the shore waiting for the sunset.

This is our only decent photo together. Thanks to the stranger who took this photo!
After 6:00 PM, we went back to our room to take a bath and rest for a while. We ate the snacks that we bought at 7/11 while watching TV. We didn’t noticed the time and it was already 9:00 PM when we went outside for dinner. Most of the establishments near the hotel were closed already. We had no choice but to eat at Tagpuan again since we love the food there! We ordered beef tapa again and Pares. After eating, we decided to go to the great northwest but again, most of the restaurants there were already closing when we arrived.
The next day, we went back to the great northwest to have coffee at El Union
We also went to Olas Banditos to grab a quick snack before we go home.
We tried their cheese quessadilla and beef burritos
La Union is definitely a great place for a quick getaway. Me and my boyfriend had a great time! We will definitely come back to stay for a bit longer to try different food places and just stay at the beach. Or I should try surfing next time? why not?
