Big Bad Wolf 2025 in Clar...
March 6, 2025
The Big Bad Wolf Book Sale 2025 was every bookworm’s dream. This year, I made sure to be there for the VIP Day at Clark SMX Convention Center. With a game plan in mind (and a budget I hoped to stick to), I was ready for a day of book hunting, surprises, and literary indulgence. Here’s a glimpse of my unforgettable experience at the Big Bad Wolf 2025!
I arrived at 9:30 AM for registration, and the first stop was The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, where the registration was being held. With a cup of coffee in one hand and a warm cheese roll in the other, I took a moment to soak in the excitement. Around me, fellow bookworms chatted eagerly, sharing their list and past BBW experiences.
A little past 10 AM, we made our way to SMX Convention Center for the opening ceremony. The energy was infectious—media, book lovers, and BBW representatives filled the hall, ready to welcome another chapter of this massive book sale.
One of the biggest surprises this year? Vouchers! According to Bernard Lee, BBW’s Regional Head, for every Php2,000 single-receipt purchase, shoppers get a Php200 voucher. Spend Php3,000, and you get Php300; Php5,000 earns you Php500! This was an absolute game-changer, making bulk book shopping even more rewarding.
The highlight of the opening ceremony was a moving performance by the children of Anak Bale-Balayan. Their songs and dances reflected their passion for learning and culture, making the moment even more special. It was a beautiful reminder that BBW isn’t just about selling books—it’s about impact. Through the Red Readerhood CSR Program, BBW encourages visitors to donate books to empower Kapampangan youth, and they match every donation.
It was a beautiful reminder of how books and education can uplift young minds and inspire dreams.
Finally, it was time to enter the sale. The moment I stepped inside, I felt a wave of excitement. Rows of books stretched in every direction, covering every genre imaginable. Fiction, non-fiction, self-help, thrillers, children’s books, cookbooks, and graphic novels filled the tables, waiting to be discovered.
I had a plan before coming in. I wanted to get self-help books, non-fiction, and children’s books for Isaac. But as I explored the aisles, I kept picking up books I hadn’t planned on buying. I usually stick to light reads, but I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. I picked up a few psychological thrillers that had intriguing blurbs. Who knows? Maybe I’ll discover a new favorite genre.
The children’s section was another highlight. There were picture books, interactive pop-ups, and educational books for different age groups. I found several titles that would make bedtime more fun and engaging for Isaac. There was also a great selection of activity books, which I knew would keep him entertained.
For those who love fantasy, romance, or science fiction, there was no shortage of options. The tables were stacked with both classic and contemporary titles. The collection of cookbooks also impressed me. There were books on baking, international cuisine, and even guides on making meals for kids.
After spending hours browsing, and making tough choices, it was time to check out. I brought the tote bag that I got from the press conference, thinking it would be enough. I was wrong. My book stack had grown so much that I had to buy a bigger eco bag for Php25 just to fit everything.
Walking out of the sale with my haul felt incredibly satisfying. There’s something special about bringing home new books, knowing each one holds a new story or a new lesson to discover.
No book sale experience is complete without sharing the haul. Here’s what I took home from the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale:
Of course, I didn’t just shop for myself. I also picked up books for my husband and Isaac. For my husband, I got Chris Anderson Ted Talks, something I knew he’d enjoy. For Isaac, I chose ABC of Kindness Board Book and Simple Math, perfect for his growing curiosity. It felt great to bring home books that the whole family could enjoy.
I know Isaac won’t be able to enjoy the Simple Math activity book just yet, but the price was too good to pass up. It was a steal, and I figured he could use it in a year or two when he’s ready. It’s always nice to plan ahead, especially when books like these are available at such great deals.
During the media day, I had the chance to pick up two books:
📚 Launch Your Dream by Dale Partridge: This book is all about turning your passion into a fulfilling career. As someone who values personal growth and creative pursuits, I knew this book would be a great addition to my collection.
📚 Other Women by Cathy Kelly: This book explores the lives of different women whose paths intertwine, revealing the struggles they face and the choices they make. I was drawn to it because it promised an emotional and thought-provoking read.
I didn’t expect to get such a variety, but that’s the magic of Big Bad Wolf. There’s always something new to discover. Whether it’s fiction, self-help, or educational books, there’s a book for every mood and moment.
This year’s Big Bad Wolf Book Sale was an unforgettable experience. Embodying “Your Story, Our Story,” Big Bad Wolf Books kicked off the first 2025 Book Sale in Clark, where each book is a step towards a story of a transformed life. With over two million books at up to 95% off, jaw-dropping deals, and fun surprises, this book sale marked the beginning of another year dedicated to uplifting communities across the Philippines.
I left with a haul that covered everything—thrillers, self-help, fiction, and even books for my husband and Isaac. BBW 2025 was more than just a shopping spree. It was a celebration of stories, learning, and the joy of reading. I already can’t wait for the next one!
