Weekend at Coralview Beach Resort

Last weekend, I had a chance to make a quick getaway to Morong, Bataan. This town has a beautiful coastline dotted with beach resorts, and one of them is Coralview Beach Resort, a private beach resort situated on 2.7 hectares of white sandy beach. The resort is named after the coral that serves as a natural breakwater for the area. It started in 2005 as a family rest house with just 4 guestrooms and a residential area, inquiries from the public have driven the resort to expand to more than 91 guestrooms and suites.

We arrived at the resort at exactly 12 noon. The receptionist asks for my name, and she immediately gave the keys and assisted us to our room even though we are 2 hours early from the usual check-in time. Everything was prepared!

We stayed at Coralview Beach A that has a breathtaking view of the beach from our own private balcony. Our room has 2 Queen-sized beds, Refrigerator, Wi-Fi, Cable TV, Hot, and Cold Shower/Private Bath. There’s a faucet just outside the room, which is a good idea because we can wash our feet before going inside the room to lessen sand from our slippers. Towels are provided but no toiletries except soap. Good thing, I always bring my own toiletries whenever I travel.

After fixing our things, we explored the area, and we spent a few hours at the beach. The water at the beach is super calm and clear, you can see the seagrass bed below at the shallow side of the beach.

After roaming around, we had our late lunch. The resort has a full-service restaurant and snack bar located near the pool that serves a variety of home-cooked meals and beverages. Before we went back to our room, we bought ref magnets and other souvenirs from the locals.

The resort has an obstacle course, which is ideal for corporate team building activities.

It rained in the afternoon, that’s why we just stayed in our room, eating snacks while watching TV. I’m glad our room has a glass door fronting the beach because we can still see the view from the bed even if it’s raining.

Coralview also offers its guests several entertaining land and water activities like kayak, banana boat ride, Jetski, and more. You can also play billiards, ping-pong, volleyball, and basketball, which we haven’t tried because of the weather and we spent most of our time at the beach.

These are the open cabanas that they offer for day tour guests. It’s a shared facility for travelers who plan to enjoy the beach and the resort’s facilities.

The place was so serene! Fresh and clean air is guaranteed here because of the coconut trees that are planted. Overall, we had a wonderful weekend despite the bad weather. I must say this place would be perfect for you if you need to relax and unwind from the hustle and bustle of city life. They have 3 pools outside (one of which is a saltwater pool). At night, we have tried one of their pools that has a Jacuzzi, and it was not crowded. It’s just 2 other people and us.
Will I recommend Coralview Beach Resort? Definitely yes! It’s just 3 hours away from Manila and 2 hours away from Pampanga, which is suitable for a quick weekend getaway at the beach. They have excellent facilities, clean surroundings, courteous staff, good food, and, most importantly, it’s safe. If you are staying here for a night or 2, choose the Super Deluxe/Premiere rooms. It’s spacious, and the view is extraordinary!
How to get here:
– From Cubao or Dau, take a bus going to Olongapo. Victory Liner has direct trips to Olongapo. Fare is 155 from Dau. Tell the driver to drop you off at Harbor Point
– Ride a jeepney (50 PHP) to Morong Town (Terminal is located near the Jollibee and Ministop)
– From the town proper, charter a tricycle (40 PHP) to Coralview Beach Resort
